Welcome To Gila Bend, Arizona
I was driving from San Diego to Casa Grande, Arizona and stopped for a short break in Gila Bend, Arizona. That's pronounced "HEE-La Bend" by the way. A sure way to differentiate between locals and visitors is in how one pronounces the name of this town. ;) As you can see, I merely photographed the welcome sign that is located on the western end of town. Gila Bend is largely a desert town that serves as a junction. The Phoenix area is to the north, Tucson is to the east, Ajo and Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument are to the south and Yuma is to the west. -Steve (February 7, 2007) Home - Grand Arizona Forum |
